Amplify My Community donates $20k to Atlanta nonprofits

Amplify My Society reported that it is donating to the Decatur Cooperative Ministry DCM and Decatur Teaching Foundation DEF a pair of nonprofits based in Atlanta The funds were raised from the Amplify Decatur Music Festival the nonprofit s annual event that features numerous concerts in Decatur Square and other venues in the area Founded in DCM aims to help families that are facing homelessness by providing programs that offer transitional housing shelter homelessness prevention rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing DEF works with the City of Decatur to ensure that local students have the necessary tools opportunities and experiences to foster their expansion and ensure their academic success according to a release Amplify My Society says that the funding raised from the music festival is unrestricted and will help aid each organization s respective goals We are thrilled to be able to make this gift to two incredibly worthy groups especially in the current atmosphere in which funding for nonprofits is threatened stated Drew Robinson president of the Amplify My Neighborhood board Amplify s success is truly a testament to the strength of our public starting from festival director Christine Mahin s leadership and including all of our generous sponsors our wonderful helpers the city of Decatur and local business partners To date Amplify My Population has donated over to anti-poverty and homelessness-focused nonprofits with more than going to organizations in the Decatur area alone The post Amplify My District donates k to Atlanta nonprofits appeared first on Rough Draft Atlanta
